One of the difficulties I’m having with ezy courses is how things are compartmentalized and require extra work and the communications flow is not great. When I had a Ning network and I’d create a group for each of my classes, all I needed to do was go in and send an instant message which would go to each registered student. This would go to their attached email. I understand ezy courses has a group chat feature but it’s cumbersome to set this up for all my classes which are structured under coaching sessions. Some students end up not getting added and it takes a lot of time to create this for each class. Also I know we can go to the email templates and send messages there to a particular class but half the time this doesn’t work as your system is always reprimanding me for bounces (another issue I never had with any other program even though it’s the same lists). Even when these get sent it’s too many steps. As instructors of multiple live classes we don’t have all this extra time to do all these steps. So I hope you will consider adding an instant message feature to every class and community. One more thing about the group chat add on feature. This should not just be seen for the student benefit. It’s viewed by ezy courses as a perk they can sign up for or not. I know you have it structured this way but really the need is for the instructor. One lost or missed or delayed communication with all registered student can result in grievances, refund requests and disputes. My life would be so much easier if I knew I could send a message if there is a need to cancel or delay class, and send other announcements. Also - on a related topic - Right now the system in coaching lets you create a task or assignment and send an instant notice of this - but it doesn’t let you change the subject line and it doesn’t let you state what it’s for. The student has to then log in to find out. So this doesn’t cover announcements. An assignment or task is not the same as a notification. If it try to use this for an instant message half the students think it’s a homework assignment and don’t feel the need to go log in and look right away. Thanks for considering. Debra
